Tightness is not a matter of convenience

With aggressive or hazardous media, every leak is an incident — with consequences for plant safety, the environment and documentation. The classic weak point of conventional pumps is the dynamic shaft seal: a component that wears by design and whose sealing effect diminishes over the operating period.

The HODD ranges are of hermetically sealed design. There is no leakage path via a dynamic seal because this seal does not exist. This provides the highest level of safety when handling critical media — and at the same time removes a recurring maintenance topic.

Resistance to what is being conveyed

The wetted parts are made of chemically resistant plastic. That makes the pumps the safe choice for corrosive media and aggressive process conditions — including where metallic materials reach their limits or become uneconomical.

If a solids content is added to the chemical load — which is the normal case with precipitation products, crystallisates or slurries — the wear-resistant design comes into play as well. This combination of chemical and mechanical resistance is the actual design focus of the ranges.

Batch operation without special treatment

Batch processes regularly end with a vessel being run empty. For many pump designs this is a critical moment that requires monitoring, shut-off logic or manual intervention.

Dry-run safety makes this effort unnecessary: an emptied vessel does not damage the unit. The same applies to a closed valve when switching between batches — the pump remains protected even with the suction or discharge line closed.

Nothing. The pump is designed to be dry-run safe; an emptied vessel does not lead to damage.
